Winter Skincare

You know how your skin can get sunburned, flaky and even dry in the summer? Well, your skin can get just as bad in the winter. Taking care of your skin in the winter is just as important as taking care of your skin in the summer. Here’s how to take care of your skin this winter, to avoid dry, dull skin.

Keep your skin moisturized. There’s nothing worse than having dry and maybe even itchy skin in the winter time. And your face can feel this way, too, especially if you wear oil absorbing makeup. I have generally oily skin and I exfoliate my skin at least once per week. This removes all the dead skin cells and dry skin, leaving it smooth. I like to exfoliate my skin as part of my bed-time routine once in a while. After exfoliating, I’ve been using the StriVectin over-night replenishing face mask.

At first, I was worried about the overnight mask being too sticky or oily, but it wasn’t. The face mask goes on smooth and does appear to be wet when first applied. It didn’t leave oil stains on my pillowcase or bed sheets, which is a plus. The mask left my skin feeling smooth and firm.

Sometimes I like to switch up my skin routine and I’ll exfoliate my skin in the morning when I’m getting ready for a special occasion. I tried exfoliating my face one morning, then applied the foaming face mask. At first I was curious – what do they mean by foaming? When applied, the mask feels almost like a mousse. After being exposed to the air, the mask begins to foam up and you can even watch it happen if you’re looking in the mirror.

I looked closely at my face and it almost looked like the little foam bubbles were going after every pore. After the foam mask dried up, I rinsed my face off with some warm water and peeked at my face again. If you’re like me, you like to look at your skin in one of those zoomed in mirrors. My skin felt smooth, soft and refreshed. It definitely made my skin look brighter and made me look more awake. For someone that doesn’t get enough sleep every night, that was an A+ in my book!

You can find these products at Sephora and Macys
