It’s that time of the year again – festive holiday parties, gatherings with family and friends, cool snowy weather. Who doesn’t love festive holiday parties and dressing up? I know I’m a huge fan. But, sometimes it can get a little hectic dressing up so often during the holidays and you just want to feel cozy and warm or maybe you just can’t afford to constantly buy new outfits for all of these parties. Don’t let this affect your decision on whether or not to attend holiday parties. I’ve got the perfect solution for you.
Getting dressed up for holiday parties does not have to be a chore. You can still save money and be versatile if you are smart about your shopping. While dresses are always a good idea and can always dress you up more than other items in your wardrobe, you can limit yourself to how often you’ll be wearing that new expensive holiday dress. Pants are the easiest way to save money and be versatile. Think about it, you can re-wear pants to several different parties if you switch out which top you pair it with and how you style it, you can wear your new pants to work or for future- non holiday related functions, you can wear any type of shoe you want with pants.
This is how I stay cozy during the holiday season. I paired my all-time favorite stretchy pants with a clean, crisp top and my favorite faux fur vest. It’s super comfortable and I can re-wear my pants to work with some heels or riding boots for a more work-appropriate look. These pants are seriously so comfortable that they feel like I’m wearing a pair of thick leggings. If you’re not into wearing tight pants, just pair them with a longer top or a tunic to make your look more modest. The faux fur vest will be very warm and cozy, which is perfect if you’ve been using the cold weather as an excuse not to leave your house.
Now, let’s talk about one of the most important parts of an entire outfit – the shoes. Science states that shoes are one of the first things people notice about each other. So, you should really take that into consideration when choosing which shoes to wear with your outfit. You can still be comfortable and stylish at the same time – yes that is a thing. I’ve had these boots for a couple of years now and they will never fail me. They are sleek and stylish and super comfortable. If you aren’t into the over-the-knee boot trend or think it just isn’t for you, try a pair of riding boots or heeled ankle boots to complete your look.
So, there you have it – you can be both stylish and versatile this holiday season all while saving your money. There isn’t a rule that states you have to wear fancy dresses that will be a one-time use this holiday season, but if that’s your thing stay tuned for a future post.
