Keeping cool in the Texas summer heat while still looking presentable is what we all strive for. I've found that sleeveless tops and lightweight pants or shorts are the way to go for escaping the heat, keeping it casual, effortless and trendy.
If you're looking for something cute to wear this week for work, date night, or just a night out with your friends, this outfit combo can be the perfect choice for you. White denim and a Chambray top come together to form a classic and effortless ensemble. Chambray shirts are the perfect alternative to denim shirts, because they are light-weight and still give the effect of wearing denim.
White denim pants (or dress pants, if you're looking for a wear-to-work outfit!) should be on your list of go-to summer outfit staples, especially if you're needing something a little more appropriate than shorts. This may be the case if you're heading out for a night on the town or hitting up that fancy bar for cocktails and appetizers this weekend. White denim is lightweight, and doesn't absorb as much sunlight as darker denim would, leaving you feeling refreshed and always looking classically cool.
White and blue together is pleasing to the eye, and can make you look more radiant and content. I always consider white denim to be a staple in my closet and it is especially a neutral. I also consider chambray to be a staple and if used the right way, a neutral as well despite it being available in different shades of blue denim.
If both items are used as a neutral, it's easy to pair an item to add a little extra pop to your ensemble. Here, I chose to add this lovely necklace by SoloHope. The bright yellow adds a nice contrast with the chambray blue top and white denim pants.
If you're not a fan of the color yellow, yo can always add a different pop of color, since you're keeping everything else neutral. For example, orange, hot pink, and cobalt accessories would also be a lovely combination and contrast to the blue chambray and white denim.
The other two items that you'd have to think about pairing with your new outfit are your shoes and your bag. If you like matching your bag to your shoes, you can do just that! It's easy to pair neutrals together sometimes, especially if you purchased them at the same store. Other times, it can be a little difficult to match the same color shoes to the color of your bag.
I like to just keep everything classic and neutral, this way nothing stands out all-together and you can always match your shoes to your bag if everything is neutral and nothing is competing against each other.
For this outfit, I opted for these brown lace up wedges and for this dark gray bag. The brown lace up wedges gave a nice contrast next to the white pants. The dark gray bag kept everything neutral, even though it doesn't exactly match the shoes.
