Layering in the fall and winter can be a challenge for some. Layering in the spring can sometimes be even worse, because you don't want to over-do it in case you get warm and have to start taking some layers off…or vise versa.
Layering can help make your outfit look more put-together than just throwing things on every morning before you head out. Take a few extra minutes to make a conscious decision about how a piece in your closet can improve the outfit you're already wearing. For me, it was this red chevron knit cardigan over the black sleeveless romper. I've made a post about the romper before, almost a year ago, pairing it with a chunky decorated belt, some espadrilles and a neutral bag. This time, I decided to re-use one of my favorite pieces, my chevron knit cardigan.
Because the cardigan makes such a statement on it's own, sometimes it can be a challenge to pair it with other items currently in my closet. I last paired it with a black fitted dress, which could be the inspiration for this post. Since the cardigan is long, flowy, and obviously light, it took the romper to the next level. It dressed it up a bit and covered my shoulders for those breezy days.
