Going from your 9-5 to happy hour can be fun, but if you're wearing something you're too uncomfortable in at the bar, you may not be having as much fun as you'd like. If it's a last minute happy hour, then you can't really help what you're wearing. If it's a planned happy hour, then plan your work to happy hour outfit in advance.
If you know in advance
It's easy to plan outfits out in advance. You can choose different items and play with ideas in your head so that you already know what you kind of want to wear the morning of. So, if you have plans for happy hour with your co-workers, girlfriends or even a date, start thinking of some versatile pieces you may have in your closet. By versatile, I mean cute tops that you can wear to work and to the bar. If you don't have any, it's only because you think you don't have any.
For this post, I opted for a flawy bright colored top. It's office appropriate, and the bright color makes for a happy, positive work environment. Plus, it looks fun and flirty at the bar later. Since I was headed to work, I also opted for a blazer that kept the top work appropriate, but could also be paired with denim for a fun business casual ensemble.
If you don't have the option of dressing business casual, don't worry. You can still take your work outfit to the bar with some small changes. If you have any hair ties or bobby pins, you can pin back your hair and create a new fun hairstyle. If you're wearing a blazer, ditch it. If you have a large or oversized bag, just take your wallet with you.
