I think we can all pretty much agree that shopping can get pretty expensive, especially if you like to keep up with current trends and shop for every season throughout the year to keep your wardrobe updated. But, there are a few ways around always purchasing new items every time a new season rolls around. For instance, a lot of your fall and winter wardrobe essentials can be re-used in the spring and summer.
One of my go-to pieces in fall and winter is the chambray shirt. If you're not familiar with the term "chambray", it is essentially a denim shirt, except lighter. Chambray shirts are a closet staple of mine, because they can be worn so many different ways without having to buy a lot of unnecessary tops that are only in style for that short period of time. In fall and winter I like to wear my chambray under long cardigans or sweaters or alone with some statement jewelry.
Since chambray is so lightweight, it makes it an easy staple to transition from winter to spring. The light blue color makes it fun and flirty. Here, I paired the chambray shirt with another fall/winter staple, the faux leather skirt. To make the faux leather skirt appropriate for spring, ditch the tights and boots and complete the look with a pair of fun printed flats.
