3 steps for a more relaxing weekend

Want to spend a couple of hours relaxing with a good movie and maybe even a glass of wine this weekend? I think most people can agree that sometimes the weekend can be even busier than some days throughout the week. Most of the time the weekend is spent doing chores that you didn't get to during the week such as laundry, tidying up the house, dishes, and prepping for the week to come. Here are some steps you can take in order to have a more relaxing weekend. 

  1. Do laundry during the week 
    One of the biggest chores that a lot of people leave for the weekend is laundry. But, why does laundry have to be a weekend thing? Try loading your washing machine mid-week or even on a Friday. Breaking up your laundry into 2 days can also be more efficient. If you load your washing machine before you do your weekly routine, you can get laundry out of the way quickly. If you're doing 2 loads of laundry on the weekend, it could take up to 3hrs of your time that you could be spending doing something else.
  2. Keep up with your home throughout the week. 
    For some, this can be easier said than done. But, if you try to keep up with your home throughout the week, it could easily help with saving some time cleaning over the weekend. Try putting that mail where it actually belongs, put those shoes that you probably won't wear for a couple more days back in your closet, fold the blankets on your couch, pull the covers over your bed, put the hair & beauty products where they belong.
  3. Load/ unload the dishwasher before & after dinner. 
    If you're not using paper plates throughout the week, then you're sink might be getting a little full if you leave dishwashing for the weekend. If you try unloading your (full) dishwasher while you're making dinner, then you could place your used dishes in the dishwasher after dinner. This leaves your sink looking neat and clean and will probably make you feel better coming home from work to a neater house. 

Try these & you can easily have several hours back during your weekend that you would normally spend doing things you don't want to do during the weekend.
